This fourth book about the amigos, who made their debut in the ALA Notable Recording Manana Iguana, presents a witty variation of the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, with a southwestern flavor. With a sprinkling of Spanish words throughout, this clever collaboration also includes a glossary.

From the beginning of this audiobook, which opens with a Spanish glossary and a production guide, Brian and Rosi Amador narrate with enthusiasm, strong articulation, and playfulness. As Tortuga sets off with a supper basket for his grandmother, Iguana, Culebra, and Conejo secretly follow him, eager to have a taste. Will the friends have a chance, or will the conniving Coyote get the goods? Brian's drawn-out speech is as slow as Tortuga's plodding, but his high-pitched Coyote raises the tension in the plot. Rosi sets just the right pace for each section of the adventure and animates Conejo's rescue plan with delight. Sound effects complement the production. A.R. © AudioFile 2014, Portland, Maine
