McLaren brings the cast of characters to life using a variety of voices--from the German accent of the skating rink owner to the young tones of Janey and the strident quality of Micah's obnoxious fianc�e. The pace of McLaren's narration is a bit slow, which can be effective for the moments of passion, but the listener might wish that he'd pick up the pace during the other parts of the story.
