For the traveler in search of sacred mountains and caves, pyramids, holy places, temples and shrines, lost cities, and natural wonders, this work serves up 108 destinations. Pilgrimage has a long tradition, and this guidebook provides many interesting suggestions for those who seek a spiritual focus in their travels. Most of the places discussed are familiar to travelers. What is especially useful about this book is its providing historical background and detailing the spiritual practices associated with many of these places, especially their origins. The call of the past and a chance to walk where those before us have gone will likely strike a chord; this book by Olsen (World Stompers) could whet any traveler's appetite for the exotic and the spiritual. Though the book's directions, photos, and author-drawn maps are more evocative than informational, this book will give readers and travelers much to ponder. Recommended for all libraries with travel sections. Nancy Almand, Weld Lib. Dist., Greeley, CO
