Clarke and Knake provide a clear, critical outline of the large and small ways in which digital technology jeopardizes national security. Pete Larkin renders this deep and sometimes complicated text comprehensible with his skillful narration. Larkin has a soft but clear and projective voice that is inviting for listeners, and these qualities prove useful in a text that discusses complex issues of national security, data security, and political nuance. Adding to the complexity are the various acronyms and organization names continually mentioned throughout, but Larkin's reassuring and steady voice helps the listener understand and retain the information and ideas. He also does well with emphasis, purposely slowing down or otherwise highlighting areas that are essential and require deeper understanding. L.E. © AudioFile 2014, Portland, Maine
